Getting the most from Restrictive Covenants

A restrictive covenant in an employment contract which seeks to prevent employees working for a competitor or soliciting your clients, will only be enforceable if it is no wider than reasonably necessary to protect the legitimate interests of the business.

Therefore, it shouldn’t be a blanket ban on all activities but rather relate to the work and activities the employee was involved in and the specific protections your business is seeking to protect.
